Hello crafty friends,
Today I want to share a bright & cheerful card with you using the new Studio Katia Mandala stamp. This stamp is so versatile and is great for colouring with alcohol markers, watercolour products and distress inks.

I started by heat embossing the Mandala with white embossing power on 110lb smooth white cardstock. Then using the mini blending tool I added 3 colours of distress ink; Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feather & Picked Raspberry. I blended the flowers first followed by the pink background.

Once everything was dry, I splattered some plain water onto the pink area, let it sit, and then pressed a paper towel on top to pick up the excess water. Love this look.

Hello crafty friends,
Welcome to another Countdown to Christmas edition of SCS.
I have a few tags to share with you today using some Tim Holtz Distress inks and some Mini Layering Stencils.

I like to add a little something homemade to gift bags and presents and a tags are usually quick to make especially when there’s only one layer. The tags below are decorated with ink, stencils and word stickers.Sunday card share Tim Hotlz mini layering stencils and distress ink

Simple layering of ink and stencils (or stamps) help make these tags quick to complete. The stencils did most of the work for me so all I had to do is come up with some designs.

Shabby Shutters & Peeled Paint were used for the trees on the tag above and gold ‘snow’ was added to the tag below with a splatter type stamp.

Kraft coloured paper and tags are a favourite of mine, white ink looks fabulous on it and when combined with red you have a classic holiday colour scheme. Can’t go wrong with that. 😀

Happy Halloween everyone!
I couldn’t resist making a little project for today that I can display every October with the Crazy Dogs stamp set. I’ve told you before that I love this set, right?

Well the images in the Crazy Things stamp set make it very easy to create seasonal projects all year long. I started by watercolouring two of the dogs and some Halloween images, then cut some text paper to for the background. I’m working on a canvas board for today’s project.

I picked out some Distress Inks to create the background, a simple night sky.
fullsizeoutput_600dStarting with the grass, I used Peeled Paint for the first layer & Mowed Lawn as the second or shading colour.

Next came the sky. I started with Broken China and I will use it with each layer I add to help blend out the other colours.

Then I added some Faded Jeans and more Broken China.img_7071

The last two colours I used for the sky was Seedless Preserves and Black Shoot. After adding those I went back in with Broken China to help blend it out.

Next I took some water and sprayed the background a little to create some texture. I let the water sit for about 45 seconds then blotted up the water with paper towel. fullsizeoutput_6019
Next I used an old star stencil and some embossing paste at the top of the night sky. I let it dry throughly before glueing down the the dogs.fullsizeoutput_601c
