Sunday Card Share

Good morning & happy Sunday! We have something new in store for you today, not new products (this time) but a new series of posts here on the blog.  Sunday Card Share will be posts for you and for me. I have ulterior motives you see 😉  (hey that rhymes)

I love to make cards and use my stash of stamps, but sometimes I don’t always make time for it in my schedule. So I thought Sunday Card Share would get me making some cards & get you sharing your cards here with me. That’s right, I want to see the cards you’re making too 😀
There is no set challenge or rules. Simply share a card(s) you are making.

Each week we will feature one or more cards (depending on # of link-ups)
Share your new or older cards using the link up below.

Kim’s February DT Reveal

Creative Team @ scrapbooknerd.com

Kim @ ScrapbookNerd.comI had a great time playing with the All Bundled Up line from Carta Bella this month!
This one is super simple and I just let the yummy papers take center stage. I cut the patterned paper into strips and just laid them on a diagonal. Embellished with the most delicious snowflake dies from MFT and Quickutz (Lifestyle crafts) as well as the beautiful bow die from My Favorite Things.

This is a page about my daughter’s haircut…
You had been bugging to shave your hair and get a hair tattoo. So much to grandma’s dismay, I let you do it! I was worried about the kids at school teasing you but you RAWKED it!! It is so you. It suits your funky quicky personality and unique sense of humour. I love that you are confident enough in yourself to set yourself apart from the rest and be true to yourself. Love you and the new do! December 2013

Well I can’t do a layout for one without doing one for the other!
Here is my daughter Caitlin…beautiful inside and out!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the beautiful colours of the papers in this collection! Also used the jumbo beautiful bow die from My Favorite Things and the swirled border die from Quickutz (Lifestyle crafts)

As soon as I saw the kit from carta bella in my pizza box I knew I was making a mini album with it! I admit I don’t do mini albums…I love them when other people make them but I struggle with the smaller scale. However it couldn’t have been any easier!!

Well…because I got a LITTLE excited while playing with this yummy paper line, I kinda went a little trimmer happy and cut up all of the paper in my kit. I had a few strips left over so I used a few to create these quick and easy cards…

Last but not least, a fun layout with all of my bits and scraps…I even used the bar code strips!! Waste not want not!! LOL!! This is Team Dirty Girls taking over the slopes at Chicopee…There is no one louder, faster or having more fun!! TDG!! WAAHHHHOOOOOOOOO!!

Design it Yourself Christmas

Today we have a spotlight on the new Simple Stories collection

Simple Stories DIY Christmas collection

These projects came together quickly with all of the fun tags, banners, stickers, chipboard & other embellishments that are available in the Design It Yourself Christmas collection from Simples Stories. I have a great start on my Christmas gifts and I still have a bunch left for more. Crafty Holiday tags at scrapbooknerd.com

I’m a list maker and it’s nice to have a pretty notebook for all my shopping lists, to do items and any other stuff I need to keep track of this holiday season.

These cards are a mixture of the other new holiday collection from Simple Stories called Cozy Christmas. I think these two collection go together So well. I’m looking forward to using them for documenting my December next month.

For my last two projects, I used the Frameables to make these two holiday decor pieces. One of these will be in my sister-in-laws stocking and I had planned on giving the other to our neighbour but…..I like it so much it might have to stay with me 😉

Celebrate the Season – day 3 with DIY Christmas

Hi friends,

Joy here today sharing a few DIY Christmas projects. I had a happy scrappy week & I’m totally into Christmas now working on these projects. Smile I’m a list maker so I always have little books and pads of paper around so I decided to pretty up one for the holidays. Simple.
I could not resist using cork on this project, it’s layered behind one of the framable cards from the Simple Stories DIY Christmas collection.

Next I have a few tags I made for some of the gifts we will be giving our neighbours this year. I used the Tim Holtz Christmas layering stencils on the kraft tags with white ink and while the ink was still wet I rubbed off some of the ink with a paper towel for a more subtle look.

A little bit Halloween with some Shimelle mixed in

Happy Halloween everyone 🙂

Joy here on this happy Friday (it’s Halloween, how could I not be happy) with some quick Halloween project cards, a Project Us spread and a few cards.

First these Hallowed themed 3×4 cards which were super easy to make using the mini placemats by Jillibean Soup. I added some washi tape, POW glitter paper and a few scraps of pattern paper. Quick, easy and called it done. Now for some pics then I’ll add them to this weeks pocket page spread.

It was fun to use the Shimelle collection for my Project Us spread this week. It’s got some great generic pattern papers, some awesome cork embellishments and die cut pack. I think I will be using this for an entire month 😉

I stitched the hello on my weekly title card using the We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy template, I  really enjoy the look of stitching on my projects.

My final share today is a few cards I made. These cards feature some cork pieces from the Teresa Collins Life Emporium collection and some shapes that I die cut using the Paper Smooches die set called Cardbooking (all supplies are listed below)
